The New Android Wear 2.0 Smartwatch By LG: The Watch Sport

The new LG Watch Sport is a great smartwatch. This new device comes with the new Android Wear 2.0, which is an excellent operating system.

Even though the smartwatches sales decreased, it seems that the new wearables market continues to grow. We must say that these devices are still in a strange place, but manufacturers are trying to make them more attractive. But, at this moment, the companies are trying to find a reason why customers should buy a watch that costs 400 US dollars or more.

Of course, the fact that the technology is supposed to make things easier is not a selling point for smartwatches. Why? Because, customers don’t find smartwatches as being a solution to a real problem. So, at this moment, the 400 dollars price is a though purchase to justify.

Google is coming with a new Android 2.0. This new operating system is the second attempt for the company to make smartwatches more attractive. The first operating system was good, but not good enough. The users interface was very nice, but the navigating experience was awful.

So, these days, LG is coming with a new smartwatch on the market, called the Watch Sport. This new device was made in collaboration with Google, just like the previous Nexus devices. The new LG Watch Sport is one of the most interesting smartwatches on the market.

Let’s start with the design. When we think about sport watches, our first thoughts are to the classic models, for example Casio’s G-Shock lineup. But, the new LG Watch Sport is different compared with those models. For example, this new device comes with a stainless-steel design, which is very attractive.

But, this design doesn’t make the new LG Watch Sport sporty at all. So, the real thing that makes this device a sport watch is the polyurethane band and the GPS feature. Moreover, the company declared that its new smartwatch is IP68 water-resistant.

To be added that the new LG Watch Sport comes with three buttons that have the mission to make the watch more functional than the original Watch Style. This device comes with a 1.38-inch P-OLED display, which makes the design more beautiful.

But, we should also mention that it has some minuses. For example, it is heavy and thick. This means that the new LG Watch Sport is not a wearable that customers forget that they have it on their wrist. Moreover, it feels like a premium device, but the leather strap makes it look a little bit cheap and it isn’t replaceable.

To be added that LG’s screen is protected with Corning’s extra-durable Gorilla Glass 3. Moreover, this watch has an ambient light sensor that helps dim the screen.

Under the hood, the new LG Watch Sport comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor, accompanied by 4GB of internal storage. Moreover, it has 768 of RAM, and a 430mAh battery. Furthermore, the new LG Watch Sport also supports LTE connectivity, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.
