HP has released the new Envy 27 All In One

The new HP Envy 27 comes with a sleek design and a sharp UHD picture. Moreover, this monitor has a good grayscale performance and USB-C connectivity.

The previous Envy 27 model was released back in 2013.

As we know, that model featured a very attractive design and had a powerful Beats Audio system. Now, HP is coming with a new Envy 27 model.

This new monitor is available at the price of 499 dollars and it is very pleasing to the eye. But, the attractive design is the only similarity that this new model shares with the previous model.

Unfortunately, this time, the new HP Envy 27 lacks the speakers, but still has a 27-inch In-Plane Switching panel that delivers an incredible Ultra-High-Definition picture. Moreover, with the new monitor, customers will receive a USB-C port.

The new HP Envy 27 comes with micro-thin bezels and a very thin matte-black cabinet.

These are the main two reasons why this new monitor has such a minimalist look. The cabinet weighs approximately 10 pounds and it is supported by a rectangular, black stand.

This stand has a chrome mounting arm that will allow users to tilt the monitor approximately 30 degrees. Unfortunately, this arm lacks swivel, height, and pivot adjustments.

Customers will find all the ports that they need in the back of the monitor. So, there, they will find two HDMI ports, one USB-C port, and one DisplayPort.

Unfortunately, the new HP Envy 27 doesn’t come with more common USB 3.0 ports used to connect to storage devices, input devices, and mobile devices.

Customers should also know that around the back, on the lower-right side they will find four buttons that can be used to access the settings menus, plus a power button.

Furthermore, the new HP Envy 27 has a maximum 3.860 x 2.160-pixel resolution and a brightness of 350 cd/m2, a 14-milisecond pixel response, and a 1.300:1 contrast ratio. Users will also have access to settings like Contrast, Brightness and Sharpness.

Another great thing about this monitor is that it has four Color Temperature Settings made up of Neutral, War, Custom RGB, and Cool.

Moreover, it has eight Viewing Modes comprised of Night, Low Blue Light, HP Enhance +, Reading, Gaming/FreeSync, Photo, Movie, and Custom.

HP Envy 27 has one-year warranty, which is a decent thing. In the box, customers will receive HDMI cables, a DisplayPort, a VESA mounting plate, a USB-C cable, and a resource CD containing drivers and a user guide.

Let’s talk about the performance. The new HP Envy 27 offers a great image, but some people will probably say that its color accuracy is a little bit off. There is also an explanation. On the chromaticity chart we see that red and blue colors are fairly close to their ideal coordinates, but the green color is completely outside of the box.

In the end, we must say that the new HP Envy 27 is not catalogued as a gaming monitor, even if it has support for AMD’s FreeSync anti-tearing technology.
