How To Make Snapchat Use Less Data & Battery On Android Devices.

Like Facebook, Snapchat is a battery consuming app. But luckily there are some settings you can adjust on your smartphone to solve this problem.

Enabled Travel Mode
One thing that is very common to Snapchat is the sucking of mobile data even when you weren’t using it. Therefore enabling the travel mode helps ensure that Snapchat won’t continuously preload Snaps and Stories in the background. This also extend your smartphone battery.

How do I enable the Travel Mode on my Smartphone? Swipe down to access the main menu, tap the gear icon on the top right corner, then scroll down a bit and select “Manage Preferences.” Finally, enable the “Travel Mode” option. Henceforth, Snapchat won’t preload snaps or stories until you click on them.

I Disabled Location Permission
Thanks to Geo-filers, Snapchat constantly checks for location updates in the background. Like you’ve figured out, this drains your battery even when you are not using the app. To remedy this, you need to disable ‘location permission’ (This works on Android Marshmallow and above). Simply head to applications in your android settings, select Snapchat, then choose ‘Permissions.’ Once that is selected, just disable the location option and confirm your choice when prompted.

With this enabled, you won’t get to use Geo-filters, but that is a small price to pay for a longer battery life, right?
There you have it from my end.
