What to expect from the next Apple TV
There is little time left until Apple’s next big event of 2015 and rumors are starting to spread.
The main attractions of this event are probably the new Apple TV box and streaming TV service.
Everyone believes that the Apple TV will be the main focus point of the 2015 World Wide Developer’s Conference that will take place on June 8.
To be mentioned that even the event’s logo has the shape of an Apple TV in the middle. Probably the new “box” will be a circle instead, but this will be exactly found out in just a few days.
The previous Apple TV that has been launched in 2012 recently dropped 30 dollars in price.
Customers are waiting for Apple to also announce their new streaming TV service that has been in progress for years. However, nothing is certain, but enough rumors and specific reports have surfaced to draw a fairly complete picture of both potential releases.
Articles speculated that the new Apple TV box will not have something that will surprise clients, as everything is widely known by now because of the specificity of the recent leaks associated with this product.
Rumors are saying that the new box will come with Apple’s latest A8 chip, the same chip that is found in the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, and a massive increase in storage, beyond the current 8GB.
The new Apple TV will also come with a full app store and support for Siri voice control. Reports also claimed that "a software development kit to help developers populate" that app store will be rolled out.
Unfortunately, the new box will not support 4K streaming, a feature that is available at Amazon, Netflix and others. The package will probably come with a new touchpad-equipped remote for navigating the interface and will have only two physical buttons.
The new remote will also be thicker than the current version and will be similar with the Amazon Echo remote.
The price of this new box is not currently available, but if the current device has the price of 69 dollars, probably the new Apple TV will be approximately 99 dollars.
This is the best price to compete with others, like Amazon Fire TV, Google Nexus Player and Roku 3.
