HP Spectre x2 2-in-1 tablet gets Kaby Lake
HP is giving its Surface Pro 4 competitor, the Spectre x2 line of premium 2-in-1 tablet a refresh with Kaby Lake processor, higher resolution display and pen support. The announcement comes just ahead of Microsoft's Surface event, where it is rumored to launch Surface Pro.
There's a 13MP camera at the back, 5MP front camera and an IR camera for Windows Hello facial recognition. Other features include Bang & Olufsen tuned audio, 2 x USB Type-C ports, a microSD card slot and headset jack. It also includes a pressure-sensitive HP Active Pen for writing and drawing with Windows Ink.
Being a 2-in-1 tablet, the Spectre x2 comes with a detachable keyboard featuring full sized keys with 1.5mm key travel, a glass trackpad, and magnetic connector for attaching the keyboard to the tablet. The tablet also has an adjustable kickstand with support for angles up to 165 degrees.
HP says the tablet can last up to eight hours on a single charge. And thanks to fast charge technology, it can get up to 50 percent charge in just 30 minutes.
