Market researcher Counterpoint revealed that the latest generation smartphone sold 7 million units in May. On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy S5 sold only 5 million units.
The data shared now by Counterpoint was obtained after analyzing information from major retailers and distributors across 35 countries. Naturally, while things are looking great for Apple, Samsung is not happy with these numbers.
In fact, this is a huge blow to the famous tech giant, which expected great sales following the release of Samsung Galaxy S5. In fact, during the first month after its release, the Galaxy S5 seemed to be a very strong product, with amazing sales. However, slowly, sales started to decrease.
Well, if the sales are great for iPhone 5S, we cannot say the same thing about iPhone 5C. In fact, the sales for this product have seen a decrease in the past few months. Counterpoint indicated that the lower-cost smartphone developed by Apple had fewer sales in May than the Galaxy S4.
If Apple and Samsung seem to battle for the first spot on the top of the best and most popular smartphones in the world, the third place on this top surely goes to Chinese company Xiaomi. Xiaomi did amazing on the smartphone market in the past few months and its popularity is on continuous growth.
Of course, this means that the global sales of this tech company have also been amazing. Counterpoint also revealed in its report that customers seem to be more interested in larger smartphones.
